What Donald Trump is doing right now is dangerous.

He is openly rejecting deals that would get TSA funded to try to force the SAVE Act through Congress, throwing our airports into chaos and leaving TSA workers without the funding they need. And instead of doing the responsible thing and ending this mess, he’s adding to it by sending ICE agents into airports — agents who are not trained to do TSA’s job.

This crisis did not have to happen. It is a situation of Trump’s creation. And I’m going to be honest with you: I’m furious. But I’m also heartbroken for the families, workers, and travelers being forced to live through the consequences of this chaos.

It doesn’t have to be this way. We can take back the House this year and begin to put a stop to this madness. We can restore some accountability. We can put real checks on this administration. But only if we work our asses off between now and November.

The votes to fund TSA have been there since before this shutdown even started. And Dems have been trying for weeks to get it done. But too many Republicans would rather stay silent and go along to get along with Trump’s chaos than do the right thing.

So while TSA workers are left without pay and travelers are left dealing with the fallout, ICE keeps operating out of a massive slush fund. Trump’s paramilitary army of ICE agents does not belong in our airports and is not properly trained to do this work.

That’s why I’ve stepped up and said directly to my Republican colleagues: stop submitting to the whims of this out of control President. You are risking our national security by your silence and complicity. YOU can put an end to this. Say something. Fund TSA. For the sake of our country, show some damn courage!

That’s how I feel. But here’s the other truth: outrage is not enough on its own. Not anymore. Not in this moment.

We need sustained, grassroots power. We need to be able to respond quickly, communicate clearly, and keep building the kind of pressure that forces people to act. That takes resources. It just does.
