Hi friend,
I wanted to make sure you heard the news — the Pennsylvania House of Representatives passed two important bills this week!
Here’s a quick update on what just passed:
* The Solar-Ready Warehouses bill (HB 1260)
* This bill will make sure new warehouses are built so their roofs can support solar panels, help existing warehouses upgrade their roofs for solar, and remove barriers that slow down rooftop solar projects. Warehouses use enormous amounts of electricity and take up huge amounts of space — this bill helps put that space to work and develops more clean energy.
* The Data Center guardrail bill (HB 1834)
* This bill would put requirements in place on large data centers — for new clean energy, protecting families from paying for data center grid upgrades, supporting energy assistance programs, and helping prevent blackouts as electricity demand grows.
Both of these bills now move to the State Senate.
That’s the next big hurdle, and it will be a tough fight. But getting through the House is a major step forward, and it would not have happened without people like you speaking up.
Advocacy works. Constituent pressure works. And this week is proof.
