COVID-19 has shown one damaging side effect of climate change and has highlighted the cracks within our systems. Not only have small businesses nationwide felt the economic shocks, but the burden of the disease falls most heavily on low-income communities and communities of color. The pandemic has previewed what the future may look like if aggressive action is not taken to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions and environmental degradation worldwide.

We hope that you will join us in this important discussion on a crucial topic.

Speakers include:

Victoria Kiechel — Faculty member in the Global Environmental Politics program in the School of International Service at American University in Washington, DC, teaching such courses as Climate Resilient Cities, Environmental Sustainability and Global Health, and practicums on migrants and migration.

Jeffrey Hollender  CEO & Co-founder ASBC. He was co-founder and CEO of Seventh Generation, which he built into a leading natural product brand known for its authenticity, transparency, and progressive business practices.

Hollender is also the founder of Sustain Natural, that develops and markets sustainable feminine care products for women; and a strategic advisor and former Board Chair of Greenpeace US. He is currently an Adjunct Professor of sustainability and social entrepreneurship at the Stern Business School, New York University. He is also the author of his seven books, including most recently, “The Responsibility Revolution: How the Next Generation of Businesses Will Win and Planet Home.”
