Friend,
Yesterday, Missouri voted in our primary election. We had so many good people to vote for, and most importantly Missouri voters decisively approved an amendment to the State constitution to expand Medicaid for over 230,000 working Missourians.

It is also official that I am now the Democratic nominee for the 8th Congressional District.

Running for Congress is not something that comes naturally to me, and is never something that I planned to do at any point in my life. But after Trump’s Electoral College victory in 2016, I felt a powerful stirring inside that honestly scared me. It turned out I was not alone—I felt compelled to attend the Women’s March on Washington and found a vibrant community of activists, moms, high-school aged youth, LGBTQ+ individuals, feminists, civil rights fighters and every day people who also felt compelled to speak out and organize.

That experience changed me, and for the better. Today, having learned so many invaluable lessons from my first run for Congress in 2018, I am centered, battle-ready, and more determined than ever to stand up against the rising authoritarianism we are witnessing in Trump’s presidency and in his Party.

Candidates like me, who come from our communities and are running boldly on the policies and solutions that we know will lift up the people in our Districts and our States, need people like you to help us run. Any campaign you support that fights for what is right and not just what is politically advantageous is worth the blood, sweat, tears, and money you pour into them.

In the coming weeks leading up to the big day on November 3, I will be working twice as hard to help lead an uprising of all the frustration, anger, and desperation that the people of my District—my friends, neighbors, brothers and sisters—are feeling and turn it into action at the ballot box. If you feel that this endeavor is worth your time and you can support me, I would be truly grateful and honored to have your support. If you can donate, please visit [link removed] [[link removed]] . We’re in the final leg of this race now—let’s make it count.
