Over the past few days, the Trump administration has continued escalating military strikes against Iran.

And while this escalation is happening overseas, I keep thinking about the conversations I’ve been having with people back home in Vermont.

Families are worried about the price of groceries and gas. They’re worried about housing costs. They’re worried about health care bills, child care, student loan payments, and all the things that seem to add up by the end of the month.

What I have not heard a single person ask for is another costly war in the Middle East. But that’s exactly what is happening right now.
