One of the most important parts of my job is hearing directly from people like you. When big decisions are being debated in Washington — especially decisions about war and peace — I want to know what you think.

Last week, I voted for a War Powers Resolution to force the Trump administration to come to Congress before continuing military action in Iran.

The Iranian regime is brutal and oppressive. It sponsors terrorism across the region and has inflicted decades of suffering on its own people. But condemning Iran does not give any president the authority to drag America into another war without Congress.

Our Constitution is clear: Congress decides when our nation goes to war.

And yet the administration launched strikes without authorization. This is a decision that has already resulted in the tragic loss of American service members. Before the situation escalates even further, I want to hear directly from you:

Who do you think should decide if America goes to war?

Congress — as required by the Constitution [[link removed]]

The President — acting on his own authority [[link removed]]

Americans have seen this playbook before. Endless wars in the Middle East that cost lives, drain taxpayer dollars, and distract from the urgent challenges families face here at home.

I will continue doing everything I can to defend the Constitution, protect our troops, and make sure decisions about war and peace reflect the will of the American people.
