Dear John,

Across Texas and the country, child care providers are closing down as they face declining enrollment and revenue. Many more are on the verge of shutting down — and many will never open their doors again.

This is bad news if you care about helping parents eventually get back to work, rebuilding the economy, keeping child care educators afloat, and supporting kids during the critical early years of brain development.

We need Congress to step in immediately with at least a $50 billion investment in child care to ensure that providers can financially survive the pandemic.

We can do this. We can save child care. But we're going to need all hands on deck.

The U.S. House just passed the Child Care is Essential Act with a $50 billion investment. The U.S. Senate, meanwhile, has introduced a bare-bones COVID relief package that would provide only $15 billion for child care.

Over the next few days, congressional leaders are negotiating their next move on child care and other COVID relief policies.

Will you take a moment to contact Congress today about saving child care?
