We're getting a huge response to this email, because people like you across Pennsylvania know what’s at stake.
Massive AI data centers are being proposed in communities like mine in the Lehigh Valley, and without common sense safeguards, utilities can pass the costs straight to families.
Will you chip in $35.00 today — or whatever you can give — to help us pass protections, hold utilities and lawmakers accountable, and ensure communities have a real say before these projects move forward? [[link removed]]
Thanks for standing strong with us.

Hi friend,
Less than five miles from me, developers want to build something alarming.
A 5.1-million-square-foot AI data center complex on more than 400 acres of farmland. [1]
And the proposed location?
Directly across the road from a public high school.
My reaction was the same as my neighbors: How is something massive like this even being proposed here in our quiet, rural community?
But the truth is, this isn’t just happening in the Lehigh Valley. Across Pennsylvania, trillion-dollar companies are racing to build hyperscale data centers that require enormous amounts of resources.
Just one of these facilities uses staggering amounts of electricity, sometimes as much as millions of homes! [2]
In the scramble to meet skyrocketing demands, monopoly utilities are passing the costs directly to customers — instead of making wealthy corporations pay their fair share. And without strong safeguards and common sense policies, greedy CEOs keep lining their pockets while our families pick up the tab.
We’ve seen this play out here before; powerful industries making false promises in exchange for our land and resources. Coal. Fracking. The list goes on and on.
That’s exactly the kind of unfair outcome CVPA is fighting to stop.
Through our lobbying in Harrisburg, grassroots education, and digital advocacy, we are working quickly to put critical protections in place — protections that will give communities like mine (and yours) a say on whether, where, and how data centers should get built.
Will you pitch in today to help us fight for Pennsylvanians and hold Big Tech accountable? [[link removed]]
But Big Tech isn’t the only problem.
Right now, our utilities already have enormous power to raise rates — and families have very little control over what shows up on their monthly bill.
Now, add the explosive growth of AI data centers demanding unprecedented amounts of power. It’s a perfect storm!
That’s why we’re pushing for reforms which would:
* Ensure data centers bring their own renewable energy to the grid instead of increasing demand on an already stressed system
* Give local communities resources to decide what kind of large development they want to allow before data centers come knocking
* Track water and energy usage, and negative environmental impacts of data centers, so that regulators can reduce harm to communities
These are important practical steps. But this fight is growing faster than we anticipated, and passing strong policy in Harrisburg takes sustained pressure.
Please make a contribution today to help us hold utilities accountable, [[link removed]]
Pennsylvania should not become the place that powers Big Tech’s revolution while our communities pay the price.
No matter our opinion of it, AI — and the data centers needed to power and sustain it — aren’t going away. But once our land is lost, our water is poisoned, and massive infrastructure is built, we’ll never be able to turn back the clock.
But with your support today, we can proactively protect communities, hold utilities and polluters accountable, and ensure these projects are done responsibly — before decisions made in haste today reshape Pennsylvania for generations.
