I’m writing to you from the car ride home, after an incredible day on the campaign trail. Rallying with essential workers, visiting small and minority-owned businesses, stopping by local visibilities with our volunteers, and ending the day meeting up with a big group of (masked, socially-distanced) supporters outside one of my favorite Dominican restaurants in Roxbury to talk about how we’re going to get out the vote!

I’m hot, I’m exhausted, and I’m crossing my fingers I get home in time to kiss Ellie and James goodnight.

But I’m fired up. Days like this remind me exactly why I got into this race: Because Massachusetts deserves so much more out of their United States Senator. Especially now.

The American people are done with politicians who think they can just legislate from afar in Washington without showing up at home. Politicians who try to tell our communities what is best for them, instead of asking them what they need.

That is the old way of doing things. That is the politics of the past, and it’s not working. If it was, we wouldn’t be here.

I’m running because I know we need change. I know we need new voices and new energy for the fights of this generation. And I know we’re going to win. Today marks one month out from our primary on September 1. That is why I am asking everyone to pitch in a contribution to power our fight through this final month.

This race is about the future of Massachusetts.

We can accept the status quo and pray that giving someone yet another six years in office will somehow deliver the change that has escaped us for nearly fifty years. Or we can try something new. We can turn the page and seize the fights of this generation — and the next. That’s why I’m running. But I can’t do it without you. If you’re all in, will you chip in right now to help us win our election in one month on September 1?

You deserve a U.S. Senator who will fight for you as hard as you fight for your own family every single day.

That’s my promise.

One month to go!
