John,
Donald Trump is set to give his State of the Union speech tonight, and I
won’t be attending.
While Trump stands there repeating falsehoods about immigrants, ICE, and
his supposed “economic success,” millions of working Americans are living
a very different reality. Rising costs, unstable jobs, and policies that
favor corporations and the wealthy over everyday families have left people
struggling to get by.
The damage isn’t abstract — it’s felt at kitchen tables and in workplaces
across the country. Trump’s lies can’t obscure the reality that his
backwards priorities are hurting the very people who need real leadership,
economic stability, and a fair shot at opportunity.
The American people deserve better than two hours of dangerous, dishonest
ramblings, and I refuse to sit through it.
Instead, I’ll continue fighting back against his administration’s
dangerous actions, defending immigrant communities, and building a
government that works for poor and working people — not Trump’s
billionaire allies.
