Dear Friend,

Summer is in full swing at Graham, thanks to the generosity of friends like you. Our summer camps and summer internship programs were up and running on time for one simple reason: we knew we could rely on you to be there for our kids and families, even while New York City struggled to make a plan.

Over the past two weeks, our programs for elementary and middle school kids have begun both virtual and in-person summer sessions. Our team in the Bronx and Harlem have worked tirelessly to implement safety measures, moving many activities outdoors and creating small groups so that kids have the space and social distance to be safe and feel free.

In addition, over 150 of our high-school aged youth are participating in internships, learning real-world skills while helping their communities via our Summer of Service. In Hunts Point, one intern group is surveying their community on various issues—learning how to create, deploy, and analyze information in a systematic way. Another group is devising a plan for a community-based organization while getting guidance and feedback from community leaders and nonprofit professionals. Others interns are working directly with younger kids serving as group leaders for their summer camps.

We were ready for our kids right when summer started, and we couldn’t have done it without you. Thank you.

Check out the collage of pictures below from across our summer programs - we hope you and your family are safe and well having as much fun as our kids are this summer!
