Jeffrey Epstein abused and exploited young girls, and survivors have spent
almost two decades demanding accountability from every powerful person and
institution that enabled him.
The least Congress can do is insist on the full truth. That’s why I
confronted AG Pam Bondi to apologize in this week’s hearing, and voted to
release the files despite the Trump administration and House leadership
trying to stall, muddy the waters, and run out the clock. Because I
believe no one — rich, connected, or politically protected — should be
above the law.
But the Justice Department slow-walked the full release of the files, and
what they have released contains thousands of redactions — all in
violation of the law.
We need to demand full justice for the survivors. I’m calling on the
Justice Department to stop surveilling Members of Congress, follow the
law, and stop redacting information that isn’t related to protecting
victims.
