We knew this was coming: Trump wants to use the COVID-19 crisis he created as an excuse for delaying the elections. This morning, he said we should delay the vote and tweeted outright lies about voting by mail, the only safe way that millions of people will have to cast their ballots. At this point, Trump will say and do anything to try to stay in power.

Voting by mail is safe, popular, and helps increase voter turnout. In fact, here’s a list of a few people who have recently voted by mail: Donald Trump, his wife, his daughter, his son-in-law, his vice president, his attorney general, his press secretary, his campaign manager, and his secretaries of HHS, Education, and Commerce. Trump knows voting by mail is safe, and he’s lying about it to stay in power, period.
Trump can’t be allowed to keep spewing lies and hatred from the Oval Office. We have to go all-in to beat him, and that’s what we’re doing at People’s Action. We’re fighting Trump’s disinformation by building relationships, person to person, in battleground states, small towns, and big cities. Next week, we’re launching a massive GOTV effort via text and phone banking to support people-powered candidates up and down the ballot that will reach hundreds of thousands of voters in key districts.
Our goal is to defeat Trump, but that’s just the beginning. We’re going to root out corporate puppets and white supremacists at every level of government, all over the country. But we can’t do it without you.
