Team –

The biggest technology companies in the world are some of the worst actors in our economy – and our democracy. Big Tech has engaged in anti-competitive practices, infringed on our privacy, and allowed misinformation to run unchecked on their platforms.

The first step here is accountability. That’s why I called the CEO's of Amazon, Apple, Google, and Facebook to appear before the House Judiciary Antitrust Subcommittee ↘️

These companies have incredible sway over our day-to-day lives as Americans. But their business models prevent them from engaging with the economy in a fair way, incentivizing users to stay within the platforms – whether it be through acquisition or algorithms – and crushing any competition on the outside.

Documents show that Mark Zuckerberg bought Instagram in an attempt to buy off Facebook’s competition. When grilled on their own anti-competitive practices and bullying, Apple and Google were evasive. And Jeff Bezos had little to say on reporting that shows his company uses seller data to undermine small businesses and promote Amazon's own brands.

As I said in the hearing: "Simply put: They have too much power.”

Unfortunately, the CEO's evaded our questions in many cases, claiming not to know specifics about the documents or interactions in question. This is unacceptable behavior from an industry that completely dominates our way of life. The American people deserve to know the facts.

Folks, I won’t back down from this fight. Will you make a contribution today to support our work to hold Big Tech accountable?
