Three billionaires now own more wealth than 160 million Americans.
Meanwhile, working families are struggling to buy food, pay rent, and
afford health care. All while Trump and his Republican colleagues keep
handing out tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy.
That’s why Elizabeth Warren and I reintroduced the Ultra-Millionaire Tax
Act in Congress to make billionaires pay their fair share.
Our bill would tax wealth over $50 million at 2%, then tax wealth over $1
billion at 3%.
It would raise $3 trillion over 10 years to fund progressive priorities
like affordable housing, Medicare for All, and the Green New Deal—all
without raising taxes on 99.95% of American households.

Here’s the reality: Trump and Republicans just gave $5 trillion in
permanent tax cuts to the wealthiest millionaires and billionaires in the
country. While working people are struggling with skyrocketing health care
and grocery costs, MAGA Republicans are concerned only with their wealthy
donors.
People feel the economy is rigged because it is. We should be working to
create opportunities for ALL Americans. But we can only fight back if we
have the resources to take on the billionaires and the politicians they’ve
bought.
