EARLY IN-PERSON VOTING IS
NOW UNDER WAY IN WISCONSIN!

Wisconsin is now officially in election season. This past Tuesday, early in-person voting for the August 11 fall partisan primary began around the state. A recent federal appeals court decision restricts early in-person voting to two weeks prior to an election. Before this ruling, municipalities made up their own rules regarding when early in-person voting took place, giving a distinct advantage to larger municipalities such as Madison and Milwaukee. Absentee voting by mail is also now available. Click HERE to visit Vote Right Wisconsin to view endorsements, your Voter Guide and other vital voting information such as how to find out what's on your ballot, where to vote and how to volunteer to "Get Out the Vote!"

IMPORTANT: Not everyone will have a race to vote in for this primary. This is the partisan primary for congress, state senate and state assembly, and county district attorneys. We urge everyone to find out if you have a primary and if so, then find out about the candidates. Every election matters; every vote in every election matters. Be sure your voice is heard through your responsible, informed vote.

Black Lives Matter Makes Its Marx

Family Research Council president Tony Perkins writes, "Ordinary people in this nation, well-meaning Christians even, want to believe that Black Lives Matter is just a crusade for racial justice. That it's a peaceful group, if not a passionate one, fighting for civil rights. They buy into the sentiment, not realizing that what they're really adopting in those three words is a violent revolution with one goal: annihilating America. This isn't the stuff of posters and wristbands. These are extremists with a profoundly chilling vision. And they'll be the first ones to tell you so." Families Deserve $$$ For At-Home Schooling

Earlier this year, Wisconsin Institute of Law and Liberty's (WILL) poll of parents around the state found that low-income families were more likely to have had to spend money on educational materials since the virus outbreak and were less likely to be satisfied with how well their schools are meeting their child’s needs. Beyond the purchase of supplies, continuing to educate children at home may put a strain on many household budgets, making it more difficult to work. Read more from Will Flanders, Research Director at WILL HERE.

Another Casino in Wisconsin?
It may happen as quickly as a roll of the dice.

Earlier this spring the federal government approved a new casino in Beloit. All that is necessary for this first-ever off-reservation casino to become a reality is for Governor Evers to give his approval. But the Governor needs to consider the impact a new casino will have on Wisconsin’s best natural resource, her families. We know the closer one lives to a casino, the more likely he or she is to develop a gambling problem. Gambling hurts families. It causes financial difficulties, puts stress on marriages, often leads to other addictions and sometimes results in criminal activity.

Wisconsin already has twenty-five casinos. No one in the state lives more than a two-hour drive to a casino. If the governor approves the Beloit casino, we will have a proliferation of off-reservation casinos because the ten other tribes in the state will also want one—and there will be no good reason to say no. The harm to families will multiply significantly. When families are hurt; the state is as well.

Visit Citizens Against Expanded Gambling HERE and sign the petition that tells Governor Evers Wisconsin doesn't need another casino. Write a letter to the Governor with your opinion about this new casino. A sample letter may be found HERE.
