During the Lake County Commission meeting today, I voted NO on allowing the installation of new license plate readers on our county roads.
Although these cameras are purportedly limited to “criminal activity,” this will simply lead to an increased mass-surveillance state in Lake County.
Our public spaces should not be littered with security cameras watching our every move.
We do not need mass surveillance and certainly don’t need shady companies like “Flock Safety Inc.” profiting at our expense—an extremely shady company.
