** Asian American Action Fund Launches “Next Generation Congress” Slate

** Expanding AAAFund’s 2026 Congressional Endorsements
------------------------------------------------------------

Washington, D.C. — The Asian American Action Fund (AAAFund) is proud to launch its Next Generation Congress slate, endorsing New York City Council Member Julie Won for New York’s 7th Congressional District and San Francisco Supervisor Connie Chan for California’s 11th Congressional District. Both candidates are running to succeed historic leaders — Congresswoman Nydia Velázquez and Speaker Emerita Pelosi — and represent a new generation prepared to meet today’s economic and democratic challenges.

These races mark pivotal generational transitions, building on the legacy of trailblazers who shaped modern Democratic leadership while advancing leaders ready to govern at a moment of rising costs, economic uncertainty, and threats to democratic accountability.

Julie Won – Candidate for U.S. House, New York’s 7th District

Julie Won is a New York City Council Member, the first immigrant and first Korean American to represent her district. A mother raising a multigenerational family, Won has built a record of delivering results for working families, including major investments in housing, education, and digital access.

“Julie Won represents the next generation of leadership our country needs,” said Albert Shen, National Chair of AAAFund. “She brings urgency, policy fluency, and a deep commitment to affordability and immigrant communities. Julie understands what it takes to confront a hostile Trump administration and deliver real solutions for families and small businesses.”

AAAFund is proud to endorse Julie Won and will mobilize its national network in support of her campaign. Learn more at www.juliewon.com ([link removed]) .

Connie Chan – Candidate for U.S. House, California’s 11th District

Connie Chan is a San Francisco Supervisor with a strong record of accountability, economic justice, and advocacy for working families and local small businesses. Her leadership reflects a willingness to challenge powerful interests and ensure government works for the communities it serves.

“Connie Chan embodies the leadership this moment demands,” said Shen. “She is prepared to carry forward Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi’s legacy while bringing the next generation’s courage and clarity to Congress. Connie knows how to stand up to extremism and fight for an economy that works for everyone.”

AAAFund is honored to support Connie Chan’s candidacy and encourages supporters to get involved. Learn more at www.conniechansf.com. ([link removed])

Together, Julie Won and Connie Chan represent the future of Democratic leadership, grounded in community, prepared to govern, and ready to confront the challenges ahead. AAAFund is proud to stand with both candidates and to invest early in building a Congress that is more accountable, affordable, and inclusive.
