Full House to Consider the SAVE America Act
I am proud to announce that the overwhelming public support behind my bill, the SAVE America Act, has pushed the House of Representatives to vote on the legislation this week. Since I introduced the improved “SAVE Act” as H.R. 7296, the “SAVE America Act” two weeks ago, we have amassed 100 House cosponsors and counting. The SAVE America Act simply contains the same citizenship requirements as the original SAVE Act, but simply adds a voter ID requirement.
I fully expect this bill to pass the House, where we will then send it to the Senate where my co-lead, Sen. Mike Lee, is pushing to have a true “talking filibuster” lining up the bill for a vote in the Senate. We have our country to save and elections to secure, let’s get it done!
Rep. Roy on the SAVE America Act: “I’m encouraged that the House will vote this week on the SAVE America Act—a bill supported by 80 percent of Americans across bipartisan and racial lines. The American people are clear: they support Voter ID and agree that only U.S. citizens should vote in our elections. Once the bill passes the House, Leader Thune must bring it to the Senate floor and force Democrats to explain why they oppose securing our elections.”

Sharia-Free America Caucus Press Conference
Fellow Texan Rep. Keith Self and I are proud co-founders of the Sharia Free America Caucus to help advance legislation that preserves the American way of life and stops radical Islam in its tracks. I joined my fellow caucus members last week in our first press conference to highlight the pressing reasons we started this group, which now has more than 30 members, and the steps we are taking to tackle Sharia once and for all.

Roy on the Sharia-Free America Caucus: “Keith Self and I joined together to create the Sharia-Free America Caucus because we understand that the root strength of this country is our Judeo-Christian principles and the values of Western civilization that have advanced the cause of liberty, freedom, and prosperity for people around the world. Sharia is inconsistent with Western civilization.
Sharia is inconsistent with the Constitution of the United States, the Declaration of Independence, and the rule of law in our country."

Judiciary Committee Hearing on the ACLU and Boys in Girls' Sports
Last week, the House Judiciary Committee convened a second hearing to address “Europe’s Threat to American Speech and Innovation.” During the hearing, I was able to question the ACLU and highlight their selective application of values.
Rep. Roy questioning ACLU Minnesota Executive Director on whether violent criminal aliens should be deported by ICE: “Now we're trying to remove dangerous actors, and you all want to turn that into some sort of cause célèbre”

Additionally, the Committee met to finish our markup of H.R. 1028, the Protection of Women in Olympic and Amateur Sports Act, which seeks to prevent biological men from participating in women’s sports. H.R. 1028 passed out of the Committee, without Democrat support, and I look forward to the full House passing this crucial legislation.
Rep. Roy during the Protect Women in Sports Markup: "What we're saying here is we want to ensure that our little girls can engage in athletic activity and not be competing against dudes. And by the way, this is not a radical position, right?"

Rep. Roy to Laura Ingram: "The only reason you don't want to have voter ID is because you want people to vote who aren't citizens or shouldn't be voting. That's the simple truth. We've got legislation that has massive support across the country from all walks of life. That's why Democrats don't want it. So this is why I think Thune should put it on the Senate floor, force them to have a filibuster where they stand up and defend it.
All of that fraud in Minnesota, that's just the tip of the iceberg of the kinds of things we're seeing across the country. If they can do that there with child care facilities, then what do you think they're doing with ballots?"

Rep. Roy with Larry Kudlow: "Now you heard John Thune. I think he's feeling some of the pressure nationwide. The American people want to see us deliver to protect American sovereignty. So now the question is, will the Majority Leader put it on the floor?"
"I stand with the American people. President Trump stands with the American people. He wanted us to call it the SAVE America Act, so we added in Voter ID, and it's now called the SAVE AMERICA Act, and that's what we ought to pass."

Opening of the Kerr County Disaster Relief Center
This weekend, my team gathered with the Kerr County community to attend the Grand Opening of the Kerr Together Disaster Relief Center. This center will be the central hub for disaster response across Kerr and Kendall counties, bringing together nine organizations to serve the people. The center will house divisions of the Texas Department of Emergency Management, Hunt Preservation Society, and the LIFT Fund, where small businesses can apply for financial assistance, and more. As our Hill Country community is still recovering from the devastation of last year’s flood, it is important that we come together to celebrate the progress made in strengthening our emergency resilience and remembering those we lost.
