Thirty years ago, a job interview brought me to Colorado, and I’ve been grateful for it ever since. It led to my career in public service — and it’s because of these 30 years that I’m ready to serve as your next governor.

Thirty years ago, I came to Colorado to interview for my first job out of law school. I was taking my first legal job in public service, inspired by my Bubby and mother’s dedication to the American values we all share: freedom, justice, and equality for all.

After three decades here, I know Colorado is the best place to live and raise a family. But with our state’s population growth rate slowing in 2025, and thousands of folks leaving for other states, our next governor will have work to do if we want more people to be able to stay in the state we all love.
