So we have to ask: why aren’t Democrats protesting right now? Why isn’t there an impeachment effort underway? Why are Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries cutting deals with Trump and Mike Johnson like this is just another policy disagreement?

This is not normal. And treating it like it is might be the most dangerous mistake we can make.

Trump is escalating every day. Federal agencies are being weaponized. Courts are being bent. Billionaires are openly buying influence. And the response from too many Democratic leaders has been silence, caution, and backroom negotiations.

That silence is not neutral. It’s permission.

Authoritarianism doesn’t arrive all at once. It advances when people in power convince themselves that now isn’t the right moment to fight. Trump knows this. He’s pushing because he believes no one will meaningfully push back.

If the party won’t fight hard enough on its own, then the only option left is to change who represents it. Because if we don’t win in November, Trump will have a free hand to finish what he started — and by the time everyone agrees it’s gone too far, it will already be too late.
