Last week, Gov. Shapiro proposed a state budget that increases investments in lifesaving community violence intervention programs.
Now, our state representatives are negotiating what stays and what goes in the 2026-2027 Pennsylvania budget.
We need to make sure there’s no debate: Pennsylvanians want the government to increase investments in gun violence prevention that saves lives and helps our communities thrive.
Take 2 minutes to send a message to your representative and tell them to pass the governor’s budget and keep investing in gun violence prevention. [[link removed]]

Community violence intervention (CVI) programs address gun violence like the public health crisis it is.
These programs put trained, trusted messengers on the ground in Pennsylvania communities most impacted by gun violence, where they can intervene and break the cycles of retaliation, victimization, and trauma.
Since Pennsylvania started investing in CVI, we’ve seen these programs work. Gun homicides have been declining for three years in a row and are now down 46.5% from their 2022 peak.
➡️➡️ When communities are free from gun violence, more people feel safe to grab dinner at their local restaurant, spend an afternoon at a block party getting to know their neighbors, and let their kids play at the park. We all thrive when we don’t have to live in isolation and fear.
This important funding could end up on the negotiation room floor if we don’t get loud and make sure everyone involved knows how vital it is to saving lives across the Commonwealth.
Join us by taking 2 minutes to send a message to your representative. Tell them to keep funding programs that keep Pennsylvanians alive and safe. [[link removed]]

While the federal government is abdicating its responsibility to keep us safe by defunding community violence prevention and survivor support programs, cutting deals with the gun lobby, and reinterpreting the law to allow more illegal guns on the streets, we need to tell our state lawmakers to step up and accelerate the progress we’re making in Pennsylvania.
Let’s do this.
