Hey John,
Are you feeling enraged by the blatant abuse and violence perpetrated by ICE? So are we. Congress is responsible for setting the Department of Homeland Security’s annual budget, and they are debating this week before the February 13th deadline.
Now is the time to tell your members of Congress to reject funding for ICE.
This funding bill would add $770 million to ICE’s 2026 budget (that’s so much money for one year!). This is after Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” cut health care and food assistance and gave ICE $170 billion! This is not what young people want the federal government to pour billions of dollars into. You deserve a government that works to improve young people’s lives by funding your healthcare, education, and basic needs.
Tell the members of Congress that represent you to reject ICE funding. ICE does not need ANY more resources to terrorize our communities with fear and violence.
Act fast. Congress has until February 13, 2026 to vote on the DHS budget.
We’ve created a short and simple email to send to your elected officials where you can add your story if you’d like to. I strongly encourage you to share this with three friends or family members when you’re done!
In solidarity,
Amber Barcel, Director of Public Policy
