Today, Special Olympics athletes, families, and supporters from across the country are in Washington, D.C. for Capitol Hill Day, sharing their stories and advocating for a more inclusive future.

For more than two decades, this effort has brought athletes together with policymakers to champion the rights, health, and opportunities of people with intellectual disabilities (ID). Federal support helps make this work possible by expanding access to health screenings, inclusive sports, leadership opportunities, and community programs.

I’m proud to stand alongside athletes and supporters today as we advocate for the rights and empowerment of people with intellectual disabilities.
