Dear NRDC Action Fund Supporter,
First, the bad news: The Democratic National Committee voted last week not to hold a presidential debate devoted to the existential threat posed by the climate crisis.
This is disappointing — voters deserve to hear directly from the candidates on how they'd prioritize fighting climate change.
The good news: We're not giving up the fight — in fact, just one week from today, we'll get another big opportunity to turn up the pressure.
On September 4, CNN is hosting its first-ever Climate Crisis Town Hall — a special presidential forum focused entirely on climate change — and they made a special request for NRDC Action Fund supporters like you to submit questions for the presidential candidates.
Submit your climate question directly to CNN here, and the next president could answer it on national television. (And don't worry — sending in your question will NOT automatically subscribe you to CNN's mailing list.)
And be sure to watch this first-ever presidential climate forum September 4 beginning at 5 p.m. ET on CNN! Check local listings, or watch live online.
Former Vice President Joe Biden, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Bernie Sanders, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, former Representative Beto O'Rourke, Senator Cory Booker, Senator Kamala Harris, Senator Amy Klobuchar, former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Julián Castro, and businessman Andrew Yang will all participate in the forum. It's urgent that we take this opportunity to learn about the details of their plans for bold climate action.
The truth is, climate change is already here: it's affecting our health, lands, oceans, and wildlife ... our food supply and our economy ... and our national and global security. The 2020 election is a critical opportunity to set in motion the national policies we so desperately need to fully address this existential threat, and we can't afford to waste it.
We know that Donald Trump won't take action to combat the climate crisis — so we need to make sure that the next president will. And that starts with learning everything we can about their plans for bold climate action if elected.
So please, don't miss this opportunity to get the answers we need on climate change: Submit your question for CNN's presidential candidate forum today.
Thanks so much everything that you're doing to help make climate change THE #1 issue in the 2020 election. Your voice matters, and I'm so glad to have you in this fight.
Sincerely,

Kevin S. Curtis
