# [#]Friend,

On Friday, I visited an ICE detention facility in Pearsall, Texas – the second facililty I’ve visited this month.

I had the opportunity to talk to detainees, observe court proceedings, and meet with Texas National Guard troops that have been needlessly assigned by Gov. Abbott to assist ICE.

Make no mistake: these facilities are prisons – filled with razor wire, steel doors, steel toilets, and inadequate health care and educational support for children. They’re heartbreaking.

But the part that pisses me off most? The VAST majority of the people being detained have no criminal record whatsoever.

These aren’t “the worst of the worst.” Most of them are breadwinners for their families – productive members of our communities who have been taken from their spouses and children. It’s infuriating.

That’s why I will continue to use my oversight authority to demand access to these facilities and advocate for detainees who were illegally abducted by ICE without due process. But we need your help to keep these families’s stories in the spotlight.

Can you chip in $10, $20, or $30 to help us continue to fight for immigrant families who have been abducted by ICE? Your support helps us use every tool available to fight back against Trump’s chaotic and cruel deportation agenda. [[link removed]]

Thank you,
