Dear friend,
Welcome to your Weekly Wrap, a recap of the week in Congress and highlights of my work.
Last week, the Congressional Labor Caucus hosted a meeting with the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA-CWA), and the House voted on the Senate Amendment to HR 7148.
More from the week: I am including steps taken to rein in Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and information for Casework on Your Corner in Simsbury.

Congressional Labor Caucus Meeting
Last week, the Congressional Labor Caucus hosted a meeting with the Association of Flight Attendants (AFA-CWA), a union dedicated to representing flight attendants, advocating for their rights, benefits, and working conditions for 75 years. AFA-CWA represents nearly 50,000 flight attendants throughout the United States.
During the meeting, AFA-CWA representatives shared with Caucus members their priorities for improving airline travel for employees and passengers.
Floor Update
In case you missed it: Last week, the House voted to pass the Senate Amendment to HR 7148, the Consolidated Appropriations Act 2026, which provides federal funding for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2026, across multiple government departments and programs. I voted no on this legislation because I cannot vote to give DHS or ICE more funding without tangible reforms and accountability of the Department of Homeland Security and Secretary Kristi Noem. Congress has already sent an unprecedented level of funding to ICE and DHS through the One Big Beautiful Bill. HR 7148 dramatically expanded funding for interior immigration enforcement, detention, and incarceration.
The legislation passed by a vote of 217-214.
Oversight of Immigration and Customs Enforcement
With Secretary Kristi Noem at the helm of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has behaved like a rogue agency. Residents of the Fifth District and Americans across the country are horrified by what they are seeing. No official or agency should operate with complete disregard for constitutional and civil rights. I support impeachment and removal of Secretary Noem and will continue to push for accountability.
In addition to calling for the impeachment of Secretary Noem, I have cosponsored legislation to reform our immigration system, including the No Masks for ICE Act, Neighbors Not Enemies Act, and No Ban Act, among others.
Additionally, I sent letters to the Administration demanding information on the alarming increase in deaths of individuals in ICE custody and voted against the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, which would have provided $10 billion for ICE.
Casework on Your Corner
Do you need help navigating a federal agency? My Casework on Your Corner program offers an opportunity for constituents to receive guidance on federal issues, ask questions about federal resources, and open new cases in real-time with federal agencies such as Social Security Administration (SSA), the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and the U.S. Postal Service (USPS).
On Wednesday, February 11, 2026, my casework team will be in Simsbury at Eno Memorial Hall, 754 Hopmeadow Street.
Learn more about my Casework on Your Program here.
And that’s a wrap.
Thank you for taking the time to read this update. As always, please continue to share your thoughts and priorities with me.
