As another week starts, I wanted to share an update on the work I am doing for the people of Middle and Southwest Georgia.
Last week, I voted to support a combined funding bill that ensures the federal government remains open and continues working for you for the remainder of the 2026 Fiscal Year.
This isn’t just a budget; it’s a commitment to our families. We secured $432 billion to make housing more affordable and $170 million for child care and critical programs like Head Start. We even delivered a 3.8% pay raise for our hardworking military personnel.
These are the kinds of results that matter to folks back home in Georgia, and I’m proud to have stood my ground to protect them.
But I also have to be honest with you about something that has me deeply outraged. We have seen horrifying behavior from ICE recently—aggressive sweeps that have caught up law-abiding families and even American citizens.
That’s why I fought to include a 10-day freeze on all Department of Homeland Security funding. I refuse to give a blank check to agencies that operate without accountability.
