84% support the historic tax relief delivered by Republicans' One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

As some of y’all may know, Mulberry became the newest city in Gwinnett County last year. Yet from its founding, the City of Mulberry faced strong opposition — including multiple lawsuits from Gwinnett County challenging the city’s creation, tax collection, and services. Here’s a rundown of what this Ninth District community has faced:

Instead of levying a city property tax, Mulberry’s revenue comes from existing fees already paid by residents to the county, such as business license fees, insurance premium taxes, and new vehicle purchase fees. Many of these revenues are collected by the state and distributed to cities and counties based on population. To receive these funds, a city must provide the state with a certified population letter from the U.S. Census Bureau — a process the agency confirmed could take more than two years. However, given the legal challenges to the city’s formation and ever-increasing legal costs, Mulberry could not afford to wait two years to receive the revenue to which it was legally entitled and dependent on for financial stability. Following effective coordination with my staff and the U.S. Census Bureau, the City of Mulberry received its certified population letter in less than one year.

Folks, I’m thrilled for the City of Mulberry! Securing this letter was key to the city’s survival and financial stability. It has been a pleasure to coordinate on this matter with Mayor Coker, and I look forward to continuing to work together as we serve our constituents. I’m always honored to assist our Ninth District communities, especially in advocating for localities facing bureaucratic battles.

On Super Bowl Sunday, Turning Point USA hosted the All-American Halftime Show as a patriotic alternative to Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny. As y’all may know, the Ninth District’s very own Brantley Gilbert performed during the exciting event. Millions of Americans tuned in to watch Brantley, a successful country singer-songwriter who grew up and still lives in my home county — Jackson County.

What a neat opportunity and patriotic representation of Georgia’s Ninth District on one of the biggest nights of the year!

Chuck Edwards (NC-11) and Sheri Biggs (SC-03), to provide students, parents, and school counselors with the information and resources needed to navigate the U.S. Service Academies and the congressional nomination process. This week, House lawmakers are back in Washington to consider the following pieces of legislation:

• S. 1383, the SAVE America Act: This critical legislation amends the National Voter Registration Act of 1993 to require proof of U.S. citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections and an eligible photo identification document before voting in federal elections, shoring up our election integrity.
• H.R. 2189, the Law-Enforcement Innovate to De-Escalate Act: This legislation amends federal gun laws to reclassify conducted electrical weapons (CEW) devices, such as tasers, meant to stop high-risk situations without using deadly force as “less-than-lethal projectile devices’’ instead of firearms, making it easier for law enforcement to procure these devices and enhancing officer and community safety.
• H.R. 3617, the Securing America’s Critical Minerals Supply Act: This bill unleashes domestic production and bolsters America’s critical mineral supply chain by requiring the Department of Energy to assess and strengthen critical energy resource supply chains, reducing our reliance on foreign adversaries and enhancing our energy independence.
• H.R. 261, the Undersea Cable Protection Act: This legislation amends the National Marine Sanctuary Act to block the Secretary of Commerce from prohibiting or requiring a permit for the installation, operation, maintenance, repair, or recovery of undersea fiber optic cables in a national marine sanctuary if such activities have already been authorized by federal and state agencies, getting rid of duplicative permitting laws while protecting national marine sanctuaries.
