Friend, I’m Angus’ wife, Catherine King — or just “Cricket,” as most people call me. As we head into the election year, I wanted to share a little about the Angus I know — the one who’s been working day and night to make Maine a better place for everyone who calls it home.
Angus has always been endlessly curious and endlessly optimistic. In a time like this, when chaos seems to dominate the headlines out of Washington, that kind of optimism feels rare. I like to joke that Angus never stops asking questions, but that curiosity is what makes him special. He listens. He wants to understand. And he believes there’s always a better way forward. While others focus on division, Angus focuses on solutions — bringing people together, listening, and finding common ground. Every job he’s ever taken — from the White House to building affordable housing to clean energy — he’s taken because he believed he could make people’s lives better. At home, I see the long hours, late nights, and early mornings that go into every speech, every drive, every handshake. He does it because he truly believes in building a better Maine — and because he believes the people of this state deserve the best.
