Your action is needed right now, John.

The U.S. Senate could vote as soon as tomorrow to open up the Boundary Waters to mining.

Tell your U.S. senators: Don't allow toxic mining in the Boundary Waters.

Mining would destroy this beautiful place.

It's a place of adventure, where canoers paddle through calm waters and campers look for glimpses of the Northern Lights through the treetops.

Moose wade through the lakes. Eagles, ospreys and great gray owls soar overhead. Threatened species including the northern long-eared bat and the Canada lynx make their homes in the Boundary Waters.[1]

We should be protecting this wild and wonderful oasis for generations of people and wildlife to enjoy.

Copper mining on the doorstep of the Boundary Waters would likely pollute its thousand lakes and permanently damage the ecosystem. The acid runoff from sulfide copper mining can significantly degrade water quality and harm the fish and animals that live in, or rely on, that water.[2]

Today, the Boundary Waters is America's most-visited wilderness area, beloved by local Minnesotans and visitors from all around the world.[3] Tomorrow, future generations could be robbed of its beauty.

The proposal to allow mining near the Boundary Waters has already passed the U.S. House, so this is our last chance to stop it from getting through the Senate.[4]

Send a message to your senators to help save the Boundary Waters.
