Maybe Louie will take the pandemic more seriously now.

Friends,

Louie Gohmert made it very clear that he thought the coronavirus was a joke and that wearing a mask was beneath him. His behavior was reckless. It was selfish. And it was stupid.

And today, Louie Gohmert tested positive for the coronavirus.

Under different circumstances, Louie Gohmert finally facing consequences for his actions would feel like justice served. But the coronavirus is not a joke, or a morality play. It doesn’t care if you’re a Republican or a Democrat.

Louie Gohmert may be a clown, but that doesn’t mean he’s not dangerous. Rush $10 or what you can to help us unseat him in November >>>

I don’t know what Louie Gohmert was doing in the time between contracting the virus and testing positive as he was about to board Air Force One with Donald Trump. But we do know that he refused to wear a mask, and we do know that put everyone he came into contact with in danger.

POLITICO: Louie Gohmert, who refused to wear a mask, tests positive for Coronavirus

Many of the people he put in danger most likely don’t have access to the unlimited rapid testing Trump and those in his inner circle enjoy. They likely don’t have the comprehensive healthcare coverage members of Congress enjoy. They might not have healthcare coverage at all, thanks to Congressmen like Louie Gohmert.

Now, Louie has even been caught berating his own staff -- who he requires to be in the office and not work remotely -- for wearing masks!

Tweet from Jake Sherman of POLITICO: Playbook PM: After we reported that @replouiegohmert was positive, we got an email from Gohmert Aide. Text: 'Jake, thank you for letting our office know Louie tested positive for the Coronavirus. When you write your story, can you include the fact that Louie requires full staff to be in the office, including three interns, so that 'we could be an example to America on how to open up safely.' When probing the office, you might want to ask how often were people berated for wearing makes.'

To get us through this crisis, we need leaders who believe in science, who put public service first, and who understand that we are all in this together. It’s time to get Gohmert gone >>>

I’m running for Congress because I believe we need a Congressman who will bring a good dose of East Texas values to the halls of Congress. When I’m elected to Congress, I’ll fight for enhanced funding for rural healthcare, massive student loan reform, and economic policies that make sense for East Texas. - Hank
