How We Win in 2026
We've been building a foundation for 4 years. Now 2026 is our time
to seize the moment... and the road to change is through the PA State
House. There are 203 State House seats, with a margin of only ONE seat between
Republicans and Democrats!
State House seats are often filled by party loyalists with no
connection to their constituents. We can change that! All across the
state, there are potential leaders who could run for these offices and
win. The system is built to keep them out, but the Forward Party is
built to let them in. Help us help them. Together, we can move
Harrisburg Forward.
What makes a great candidate?
- Connection to their community
- Clear communication of their ideas
- A collaborative, solution-oriented mindset
- Addressing local issues (state and community)
Where can Forwardists win?
- Uncontested races (nearly 50% in PA)
where no one is
running against the incumbent
- Districts that aren't competitive (nearly 75% in
PA)
because the same party always wins
- Anywhere that local issues aren't being addressed by the people in
charge
Where to find information for your
district?
- Use the PA site Find
My Legislator to look up your house district
- Use Ballotpedia
to find your representative and the results of past elections
- Email [email protected]
to discuss running in your district (or recommend someone who
can)

Welcome our newest elected
Forwardist!

The Pennsylvania Forward Party is
thrilled to announce the affiliation of the recently elected
independent Mayor of Dallastown Borough, Kristine Cousler Womack.
Kristine has been a friend and supporter since the beginning of our
party. She attended our first Gettysburg summit in 2023 and stood with
us in Harrisburg in 2024. Kristine has a long history of fighting for
her community and supporting independent/3rd-party candidates. We're
proud to support her Mayorship and we're looking forward to working
together.
Special Election Excitement
Four special elections for State House races were already scheduled
and we'll be reaching out to supporters in those areas to remind them
to vote for these very important races (Districts
22, 42, 79, 193). Now a fifth special election has been
announced—and it's an exciting one!

On January's statewide call, we heard
from recently-announced Forward affiliate Ron
Ruman. He told us about his plan to run as a Forward Democrat for
the PA State House in the 196th district (York County). The seat
interests him because the sitting representative, Seth Grove, is not
running for reelection, so this will be a great opportunity to bring
something new to Harrisburg.
Then, last week, the excitement ramped up
when Seth
Grove announced his resignation, triggering a special election
that will be held simultaneously with the May 19 primary election.
We're excited to watch Ron's progress!
Join us for our monthly call. It's a
casual chat where you can hear what's new and ask questions about the
Forward Party.

You can also attend regional calls, which are smaller and more
personal.
