CO GOP VICE CHAIR RESIGNS IN DISGUST OVER CHAIR HORN’S FAILED LEADERSHIP. SECRETARY ECHOES VICE CHAIR’S CONCERNS. In the shock of the week, CO GOP Vice Chair Richard Holtorf announced he is resigning his position, saying “I have found it impossible to work with the Chair.” Keep in mind Holtorf was Chair Horn’s hand-picked favorite to replace her first Vice Chair who resigned for similar reasons. Holtorf’s resignation letter bluntly described Horn’s failed leadership saying she rebuked and ignored his efforts to unify the Party. In a brutal article in Colorado Politics CO GOP Secretary Russ Andrews echoed Holtorf’s disgust and frustration with Chair Horn. Andrews indicated he might resign also after the State Assembly in April. He is dismayed at Horn’s inability to raise any money while racking up tens of thousands of dollars in legal bills as she wages vindictive lawfare against grassroots. PETITION GRANTED TO HOLD SPECIAL MEETING REGARDING CHAIR HORN’S FAILED LEADERSHIP. COULD BE CALLED WITHIN DAYS. In another shocker, Secretary Andrews announced he is changing his mind and NOW proclaims Ray Garcia did indeed gather the required number of signatures to hold a special meeting regarding Horn. The meeting will include a vote to immediately cease all of Horn’s lawfare attacks and a vote of no confidence in Chair Horn. Andrews’ decision adds, “A failure by Ms. Horn to call for the special meeting per the bylaws will have significant consequences for Ms. Horn.” Now Dictator Horn has a record of ignoring the bylaws so we are not holding our breath that she will do the right thing. READING BETWEEN THE LINES - CHAIR HORN HAS LOST ALL SUPPORT. Her Vice Chair is resigning in disgust, her Secretary is supporting the special meeting to oust her, and even her most loyal supporters have deserted her and talk publicly about wanting to recall her. The hard hitting article in the Anschutz-controlled Colorado Politics is a clear sign the Establishment wants her gone as well. The electeds (Congressional Reps and legislators) who shoved Horn down our throats are MIA which is not good news for her. Horn has crashed the Party into the iceberg and seems willing to sink the CO GOP rather than step down. She needs to go - either voluntarily or through a recall vote - so we can revive the Party in time for the 2026 elections.
BUT WAIT - IT GETS WORSE. FINANCIAL REPORTS SHOW HORN HAS DRIVEN THE PARTY INTO A DEVASTATING FINANCIAL PIT. MORE THAN $266-THOUSAND IN DEBT. The July-December 2025 FEC filings reveal Horn’s dirty financial secret - she has only $5000 more cash on hand than she started with a year ago and has racked up an alarming $266,823 in debt. Including $14,500 she owes on a loan she took out and $141,500 in legal fees owed to her personal attorney Steve Klenda. We might as well call the CO GOP the COLORADO KLENDA PARTY - because virtually every dollar you donate is now going to pay Horn’s personal attorney - Klenda.
