As Sarah approached the completion of her associate’s degree and was preparing to transfer to a four-year university course, she unexpectedly became pregnant. “I was upset and sad. I felt like I made a huge mistake,” she said.
According to Sarah who lives in the US, the baby’s father was unhappy as well, and together they opted for an abortion - a decision that conflicted with the values she was raised with.

From abortionist to pro-life leader
After years of performing abortions and undergoing one personally, Dr Kathi Aultman now dedicates her life to defending unborn babies.
Today, instead of carrying out abortions, she appears before lawmakers, contributes to abortion-related research, and, as an associate scholar with the Charlotte Lozier Institute, educates the public about the physical and emotional harms of abortion.

Our spokesperson Eilís Mulroy debated Karen Sugrue on Newstalk Breakfast following Ruth Coppinger’s bill being introduced in the Dáil last Thursday, seeking to remove the three day wait before an abortion.
Between 2019 and 2024, 10,426 women did not return after the three-day waiting period - proving the life-saving value of the three-day reflection period.
