Hi Our Villager!

Welcome to 2026! I hope the year has started well for you and your loved ones and you enjoyed a safe and relaxing break. After a short closure over the festive period we are full steam ahead here at Our Village – getting on with delivering essential items to the babies and children who urgently need them.

And that job has been made much easier with the volume of clothes, cots, prams, car seats, books and toys that were donated by our incredible community in the lead up to Christmas and in January! Thank You! 💚

Along with those amazing goods that were donated, we are thrilled to report that our Festive Appeal was a huge success – all because of your support! The final numbers are in, we raised an an incredible....

Thank you so much! The money raised from this appeal is critical in ensuring we can continue to support babies and children all over Victoria with the essential items that they need to thrive. Because of your support , thousands of babies and children will feel supported and loved this year. We couldn't appreciate your help and generosity more. 💚

Look what happens because of YOUR support…

Just after Christmas we received some wonderful feedback from one of our partners at Orygen, an organisation that supports young parents with mental health challenges.

“I just wanted to send an update to you and the team, I was able to pass the items onto the young person today and she wanted to thank you all so much, she had a little cry at how overwhelmed she was at the quality and amount of items she was able to receive - she said we made her Christmas just that more special. Thank you again for your amazing work.”

This feedback just goes to show how your support truly does make a difference to those struggling and in need of help. Thank you for being their village!

Exciting Partnership Announcement!

We’re thrilled to officially welcome Baby Bunting as a partner of Our Village. With a shared commitment to supporting babies, children, and families, this partnership is a perfect fit.

As part of this exciting collaboration:

🌟 Our Village x Baby Bunting Fundraiser kicks off this February!

From 2 February for 4 weeks, customers at Baby Bunting stores across Victoria are being invited to donate at the register to support Our Village’s work. This in-store activation will help raise vital funds to support Victorian babies and children in need.

Together, we’re stronger - and every contribution helps turn pre-loved into re-loved so every child thrives.

Donation Spotlight – thanks Harriet!

We were thrilled to have Harriet visit our Geelong warehouse just before Christmas with a special drop off. Harriet, who is in Grade 1 at Kardinia International College, organised a book drive through her school. She also set up an online fundraiser and in the end she managed to collect 184 books and raise $35!

We asked Harriet why she decided to support Our Village and she said:

“I'm collecting book donations through my school and online donations, so that every child can have a Christmas present to open on Christmas Day.”

Volunteer spotlight - Meet Carla! 💚

How long have you been volunteering with Our Village, and what keeps you coming back?

I started at Our Village in August 2024. After my induction, I knew it was for me – the work we do for families in need. Knowing that you're made to feel welcome, and the friendliness of both the staff and the other volunteers made me get out of my comfort zone and embrace a new start. I enjoy the flexibility to help when I'm able to.

What's your favourite part of volunteering at Our Village?

Each day is different: seeing the amount of donations; the bundles we do and how many go out; staff and volunteers are happy to see you and thank you at the end of the day.

What do you enjoy doing most when you're here?

I enjoy everything from sorting clothes to working with the linen and making linen, cot and bassinet packs. It makes me happy to know these packs are going to families in need. I feel a sense of pride when I put them together. I am always happy to help out where it's most needed.

Help Turn Donations Into Impact - Corporate Volunteers Needed!

We’ve been overwhelmed with wonderful donations recently – thank you!! Now we urgently need volunteers to help sort, clean and prepare the stock so it can be re-homed to the babies and children who need it most.

Right now these items simply aren’t moving through our warehouse as we don’t have the people-power to turn them around fast enough, and your time and energy will make a real difference.
