Herbert,
When it comes to funding President Trump’s immigration enforcement agenda, I’ve been clear and consistent:
No guardrails. No funding.
That’s why I voted — again — against legislation that would fund ICE for another year without any new accountability measures.
I refuse to support anything that enables ICE to continue terrorizing American communities — arresting and deporting citizens and detaining innocent children. Not for one more day. Not for one more hour.
What we’re asking for isn’t radical. It’s common sense — and it’s already standard practice for other law enforcement agencies:
• Body-worn cameras
• Clear rules prohibiting the detention or deportation of U.S. citizens
• Strong, transparent use-of-force standards
• Limits on operations in sensitive locations like schools and houses of worship
These basic safeguards protect civil rights, strengthen public trust, and keep communities safe.
I will keep fighting for compassionate immigration policies that honor our nation’s history of inclusion and uphold our most basic freedoms.
And I hope I can count on your continued support as we do this work together.

Gratefully,
