John, I just made a bit of a bold decision:
Yesterday, our campaign placed our first TV ad reservations for this race, and I authorized a slightly larger buy than we have the cash on hand for. It was an exciting day because we are the first campaign to do this, and we know it is essential to winning. But, it wasn't an easy decision and we debated as a team whether this was the right choice.
Here’s the deal, John: we’re just 125 days away from the primary, and our ads will go live as voters are paying attention and making their final decisions for the June primary. Maine is a big state, and it is crucial that voters everywhere know what I stand for and the plans I have to lower costs for families, strengthen our health care system, and how we will stand up to the overreaches of the Trump Administration.
This investment will allow us to reach communities statewide and support the grassroots work that is at the heart of our campaign.
The good news? We do have some time to raise the final $25,000 in funding we need to pay for our buy, and with the strong network of supporters just like you, John, who have shown up for every important moment and deadline of this campaign, I have full faith that we can get it done.
