Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming our world at lightning speed, but the current costs to our climate and communities are unsustainable and unacceptable. And companies like Meta need to be held accountable.

AI is creating unbearable noise and air pollution, raising energy rates, and hogging water nationwide. The way artificial intelligence is powered – increasingly by fossil fuels and nukes -- is really dumb.

That’s why Green America is pushing AI companies like Meta to use only renewable energy to power their massive servers, so communities aren’t polluted, and climate change isn’t made worse by fossil fuels they use.

Your voice is crucial. AI's massive energy appetite for data centers could either continue to accelerate the climate crisis and pollute our planet OR supercharge our renewable energy future, where communities have a real voice in how and where AI facilities are built.

Meta is a leading company in AI and is spending billions of dollars to build massive servers. And despite having commitments to 100% renewable energy, Meta is turning to fossil fuels to power their AI thirst. They need to use the billions they are spending on AI data centers to use 100% renewables.

Please raise your voice along with the communities challenging AI companies across the country. Meta isn’t the only company that needs to change, but Meta is an industry leader. And Meta must use their vast wealth to power the energy revolution by using only renewables like solar and wind, with batteries.
