When Republicans gave ICE a blank check last year, DHS and ICE used it to terrorize our communities, separate families, use kids as bait, trample our rights, allow 37 people to die in their custody, and even kill American citizens in broad daylight.

What ICE is doing in Minneapolis and across the country is horrific.

Cutting them a blank check using taxpayer money to fund their reign of terror is simply unconscionable.

That’s why I refuse to support additional funding for DHS, and it’s why I believe Kristi Noem must be impeached.

To end this madness, we must win back the House in November. Anything short of that will further embolden Trump and his enablers.

I’m doing everything I can to fight back and draw attention to the abuses of this administration, but the harsh reality is with the GOP controlling all the levers of government, our options are limited.

But if Democrats flip the House, we’ll finally be able to put a check on Trump’s power.

If we also retake the Senate, we can stop Trump from enacting the worst parts of his agenda.

We can put an end to the atrocities being committed against our communities by DHS.

I understand that seeing Trump and the GOP destroy our country in plain view is incredibly disturbing and disheartening, and it might seem easier to just keep our heads down and wait for his term to be up in 2028.

But this is not normal, John, and we must never forget that.
