John, it’s Kwame Raoul. As the Attorney General of Illinois, I’m working with Keith Ellison to stop unconstitutional and unlawful ICE and Border Patrol operations.
ICE and Border Patrol officers have invaded and occupied communities in Illinois and Minnesota, causing real harm to our residents. In both states, federal agents have conducted illegal stops and arrests, used unlawful racial profiling, and deployed excessive force — all under the guise of immigration enforcement.
When ICE began terrorizing our communities, Keith and I stepped up and fought back.
We filed lawsuits against the Trump administration, asking the court to stop the federal occupation of our state. As these cases proceed, we’ll continue using every legal tool at our disposal to defend people’s rights, due process, and the Constitution.
