Hi John,

It’s Laura (Phil’s mom) writing to you again. Phil and his team are busy with getting out the vote -- so I asked him if I could send along my reflections on his race before the fundraising deadline.

It’s not an understatement to say that watching Phil run for Congress is one of the proudest moments of my life.

It’s become clear in the last month that there’s nothing different about ‘candidate Phil’ and the way Phil acts privately with friends and family. Even though he’s up against a ton of outside super PAC spending, he’s stayed true to his word -- and he’s not afraid to call out what’s wrong with the status quo.

That’s the Phil I know.

The super PAC spending means he’s up against a fundraising disadvantage, but that won’t stop him. Together I believe we can help Phil meet his mark on fundraising: So what do you say, can you chip in $3? Even if you can’t give that much, anything you can give would help Phil and his team get out the vote. >> [link removed]

Phil’s been committed to serving his community for a long time. He has the compassion, grit, and determination to do right by the folks here in the South Sound. It’s why Denny Heck trusted him so much to be District Director in the first place!

Needless to say, I couldn’t be more proud to cast my ballot for Congress this year -- and I hope you’ll join me before August 4th.

Sincerely,

Laura Gardner (Phil’s mom)

Paid for by Phil Gardner for Congress

Phil Gardner served as the District Director for Congressman Rep. Denny Heck in Washington's 10th District. Now, he's running to replace Denny in order to continue fighting for the people of the South Sound and our shared progressive values. If elected, Phil would make history as Washington state’s first openly LGBT Member of Congress.
