Friend, the latest batch of files from the Epstein case reveals just how much the business and political elite were intertwined with the criminal Jeffrey Epstein, especially Trump and MAGA — and just how much they were downplaying their relationships with this disgusting man.
Trump himself is named thousands of times throughout the files. There are a lot of accusations that, if true, would be damning and devastating. Either way, it’s clear that Trump and Epstein were very close. It’s also clear that the White House has been denying details that turned out to be correct.
Howard Lutnick, Trump’s Commerce Secretary, is exposed for having gone to Epstein's infamous private island, where minors were trafficked and sexually abused, years after he claimed to have cut off ties — in other words, he lied.
Elon Musk was in contact with Epstein years after his conviction for soliciting an underage prostitute, despite previously denying it, and in one email he appears to talk to Epstein about going to a party on his island: “What day/night will be the wildest party on your island?”
Peter Thiel, the tech billionaire who bankrolls Trump and many Republican elected officials and has been a mentor for JD Vance, was tied with Epstein both financially and personally. The New York Times reports that “an investment firm co-founded by Mr. Thiel accepted $40 million from Mr. Epstein and that Mr. Epstein and Mr. Thiel corresponded for at least five years before Mr. Epstein’s death. ‘Visit me Caribbean,’ Mr. Epstein urged the tech billionaire in 2018.”
Steve Bannon, one of Trump’s closest advisors and political whisperers, was in close contact with Epstein in the years leading up to his arrest and death. Bannon was even strategizing with Epstein on how to fix his public image in the wake of his sex crimes.
Even Bret Rattner, the man who directed the new Melania Trump movie, “can be seen sitting on a sofa beside Epstein and two women whose identities have been obscured.”
And if you can believe it, there are still more files to be released, and tons of redactions that are clearly meant to protect the identities of powerful people who were associated with Epstein.
Ed Markey is going to keep pushing for truth, justice, and transparency. But this story speaks to the lengths that the billionaire class goes to protect each other and get away with crimes, from tax evasion and insider trading to child trafficking and abuse. We have a moral obligation to break up the power of these billionaire oligarchs and return our democracy to the hands of regular people.
