The Lincoln Project

Friend,

And the 29th bites the (cheeto) dust.

GOP Rep. Barry Loudermilk becomes 29th House Republican to not
seek reelection

Trump took office less than 13 months ago with the smallest House majority since the 1930s.

Since then, 29 Republicans have announced they’re not running for re-election.

Sure, a couple got cushy jobs around Trump’s admin or decided to run for a different (read: less vulnerable) office, but most resigned out of embarrassment or fear of getting thrashed in the midterms. And we can’t blame them.

The state of this party is an absolute joke. Trump has lost complete control, his cabinet is showing their true (incompetent) colors, and even the sycophants who at one time would lay down on the fire for the orange messiah are starting to speak out against their leader.

The MAGA downward spiral isn’t just continuing, it’s picking up speed. That means we have a serious advantage.

29 open seats is no joke, folks. That means there are 29 MAGA seats where the incumbent will not run. That takes away a serious edge for MAGA, and in a year like this, when the leader of their party is polling in the 30s, MAGA needs every edge they can get.

But that doesn’t mean we can take our foot off the gas. As we always say, we have to remember who we’re up against here. In every midterm election, we’re facing the richest man in the world and the most notorious conman in the world. They will do whatever it takes to win. But then again, so will we.

If we want to take all 29 of these seats and then some, we have to get to work now. Trump’s behind in the count. Help us strike him out >>
