Ron Paul was right (again)

Patriot,

For decades, Campaign for Liberty Chairman Ron Paul has warned us the United Nations was never about peace or cooperation — it was about ceding American sovereignty to unaccountable international bureaucrats who don’t have the interests of the United States in mind.

He was right then, and he’s right now.

The United Nations routinely:

• Undermines U.S. constitutional authority

• Pushes global regulations American citizens never voted for

• Shields authoritarian regimes while lecturing free nations how they should govern and act

• Absorbs billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars with little transparency or accountability

As Dr. Paul said plainly: no foreign body should have authority over the American people or the U.S. Constitution.

Yet year after year, Washington, D.C. keeps writing checks and deferring to the U.N. — even when its resolutions, agencies, and courts directly conflict with American law, American interests, and American values.

Enough is enough.

The United States does not need permission from the U.N. to defend itself, govern itself, or protect liberty. Our Founders never intended for our sovereignty to be outsourced to an international organization immune from voter control.

Never mind the mind-boggling amount of money you and other taxpayers have to pay . . .

In 2025, the United States was assessed to pay approximately 22% of the U.N. regular budget, which amounted to over $820 million, and about 26% of the U.N. peacekeeping budget, totaling around $1.2 billion.

And even with a $3.4 billion budget, the U.N. General Secretary is warning of a financial collapse sooner rather than later.

The BBC reports:

The US did not pay its contribution to the U.N.'s regular budget in 2025 and offered only 30% of its expected funding to U.N. peacekeeping operations.

Then in January, Trump withdrew it from dozens of international organisations, including 31 U.N. agencies, to "end American taxpayer funding and involvement in entities that advance globalist agendas over US priorities".

In late December, the US pledged $2bn (£1.5bn) in funding for U.N. humanitarian programmes - warning the international organisation must "adapt or die" - a fraction of the $17bn it spent in 2022.

So while defunding the U.N. is one way to put it out of existence, governing through executive orders means full funding can be restored by the next president with the stroke of the pen.

That’s why we’re asking you to act right now and support the DEFUND Act (S.669).

The Disengaging Entirely from the United Nations Debacle (DEFUND) Act calls for the United States' complete withdrawal from the U.N.

The DEFUND Act also:

*** Repeals critical acts that bind the U.S. to the U.N., such as the United Nations Participation Act of 1945 and the United Nations Headquarters Agreement Act.

*** Ceases all forms of U.S. financial support to the U.N., including assessed and voluntary contributions.

*** Prohibits any U.S. involvement in U.N. peacekeeping operations.

*** Revokes diplomatic immunity for U.N. officials within the United States.

*** Formalizes withdrawal from the World Health Organization and other U.N. conventions.

*** Sets stringent conditions for any future engagement with the U.N., requiring Senate approval with explicit withdrawal provisions.

This is how change starts — with citizens at home demanding their elected representatives put America’s Constitution first.

Ron Paul continues to show us the principle. Now it’s up to us to force Congress to act on it.
