Atlanta Leines, HST

I’ve always been interested in the medical field. I started out studying nursing, and even though I had to step away, becoming a CNA/HST through the "Will Train" program felt like the right way to get back on that path.

I help with the daily care and support of our Residents - assisting with personal care, monitoring their well-being and being available in the moments when they need someone the most. It’s hands-on work that lets me make a real difference.

I also enjoy getting to know the Residents. They’re full of personality and their stories are incredible. The more I learn about their lives, the more I understand how much they’ve sacrificed.

Working overnights is different but the reward is worth it. Residents truly appreciate the support they receive, especially when they’re vulnerable. We get to know their families, too, and they’re always grateful. I'm thankful I have the privilege to serve our Veterans and give them the dignity they deserve as they age and through their final days.
