Team —
Homelessness is one of the most urgent and visible challenges facing Los Angeles. For too long, people were told to accept it as unsolvable. Mayor Karen Bass rejected that from day one.
Since taking office, Mayor Bass has moved with urgency to change a system that left tens of thousands of Angelenos on the streets. Through Inside Safe and other initiatives, thousands of people have been moved into interim and permanent housing.
Nearly 120 encampments have been resolved, and eighty-five percent of people placed into permanent housing are staying housed.
That is real progress. It’s proof that when government acts with focus and compassion, with leaders who aren’t afraid to reject the status quo, lives change.
But this work is hard, and it requires sustained leadership. That’s why we’re asking for a contribution today, so that Mayor Bass can continue doing this important work.
