Big news! This morning Joaquin earned the endorsement of the San Antonio Express News — citing his “effective leadership” in fighting for the people of San Antonio. 

They highlighted that last year, Joaquin was ranked the most effective Democrat in Congress by the Center for Effective Lawmaking – working tirelessly to get things done, even though Republicans control the House.

We saw Joaquin’s leadership on display last week, when he visited the Dilley Detention Center and helped secure the release of a 5-year-old child and his father from ICE detention.

Joaquin doesn’t just talk the talk – he walks the walk. And he’s not slowing down. 

Tomorrow Joaquin will visit another ICE facility in South Texas — using his oversight authority to examine conditions, speak with people in detention, and shine a light on ICE’s abuses.
