I’m about to ask you to rush $15 in the next 12 hours, but first I hope you’ll listen to my story. >>
Eight years ago, my life changed forever.
My sweet 14-year-old nephew, Alex, was slaughtered at his desk during Language Arts class – along with 16 of his classmates and educators in Parkland, Florida.

When my mother-in-law texted me that there had been a shooting at my nephew’s school, I put my phone down and continued on with my day.
I was in denial that something like this could happen to my nephew. That this could happen to my family. That Alex would have been affected.
It’s sickening when I think about it now, but that’s how much I was in denial.
But the truth is: What happened to Alex and my family could happen to any one of us. None of us are immune from the gun violence epidemic plaguing our country.
I’m working day and night to make sure no one else has to receive a text saying your loved one was gunned down, like I did eight years ago. But I need you to join me and fight like your families’ lives are on the line. Because they are. I need to raise 1,500 gifts before midnight to make sure we have the resources to defeat gutless lawmakers and elect gun safety champions committed to banning assault weapons – like the one used to murder my nephew. Will you rush $15 in the next 12 hours? >>
There have been THOUSANDS of school shootings since the one that stole my nephew.
THOUSANDS of students and educators impacted by gun violence.
THOUSANDS of families who have lost their children.
Yet, lawmakers – like Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis – have done NOTHING to protect our kids from mass slaughter.
Just last month, Ron DeSantis and Republicans in Florida even attempted to ROLL BACK the age limit to purchase assault weapons put in place following the slaughter at Parkland.
And earlier this month, Trump and his criminal administration made it LEGAL to mail guns across state lines, while destroying a host of other gun safety protections.
We can’t allow these terrible schemes to go unchallenged.
Gun violence doesn’t discriminate. Anyone can be slaughtered at the hands of an assault weapon. Anyone can lose their loved one at the hands of a mass shooter. That’s why we ALL have to band together and fight like our lives depend on it – because they do. Will you chip in $15 before midnight? I need to raise 1,500 gifts to fully fund our campaign to elect bold gun safety Democrats with the guts to FINALLY ban the assault weapons that are responsible for the endless bloodshed in our communities. >>
Thank you,
Gail Schwartz
