[ [link removed] ]Summer Lee for Congress
John,
We need to talk about something that honestly made our jaws drop.
In a recent article, Summer Lee’s DEMOCRATIC primary opponent said this —
with a straight face: “Being super critical of the president [Trump] will
get you nowhere.”
Read that again. 👀
[ [link removed] ]And before we go any further, let us ask you this — if you think
Democrats should be fighting back against Donald Trump right now, not
backing down or playing it safe, will you chip in $5, $15, $25, or
whatever you can today to show him exactly where our voters really stand?
At a moment when Donald Trump is unleashing ICE to terrorize our
communities, dismantling entire federal agencies, attacking public
education, targeting workers, going after our own citizens, ripping away
health care, and even saying he wants housing to be more expensive…
That’s his political analysis? 😬
Not that Trump is out of control.
Not that people are scared.
Not that our democracy is on the line.
No — his takeaway is that Democrats should go easier on the guy.
YIKES.
Because voters right now are demanding the exact opposite. They are
begging for leaders who will call out the harm, stand their ground, and
fight back with everything they’ve got.
The people don’t want caution. They don’t want politicians playing it
safe. They don’t want Democrats pulling their punches. They don’t want
leaders walking on eggshells. They don’t want watered-down criticism. And
they CERTAINLY don’t want politicians worried about being “too mean” to
Donald Trump.
And yet — that’s the argument our opponent is making in this race.
[ [link removed] ]If you want to send a crystal-clear message that Democratic voters
aren’t interested in softening their stance on Trump, chip in today. Even
$5 helps us prove that strength — not surrender — is what wins this
primary.
Even worse, this comes as Trump himself recently said:
“I hate even talking about ICE. 2 people out of tens of thousands [get
killed] and you get bad publicity.”
He dismissed the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti like they were a
communications problem.
And while Trump shrugs off human lives, Summer’s Democratic opponent is
telling people we shouldn’t be too hard on him.
In this moment? That’s not just out of touch — it’s actually insulting.
This is exactly why Summer Lee’s leadership matters so much right now.
Summer hasn’t wavered. She hasn’t softened her message. She hasn’t decided
this is the time to play nice.
She has fought back on every front available to her, unapologetically and
without blinking.
And since DAY ONE — when she entered Congress in 2023 — Summer has never
missed a single vote. Not once. That’s what showing up looks like. That’s
what accountability looks like. That’s what real representation looks
like.
So here’s the truth: attacks like this only happen when someone is scared
of the contrast. Because the contrast is brutal…
On one side, you have someone saying Democrats should stop being so hard
on Trump. Frankly, it’s the kind of line you’d expect from a Republican,
not someone asking Democratic voters for their support.
On the other side, you have Summer Lee — standing firm, doing the work,
and refusing to let this moment pass without a fight.
Summer’s Democratic primary is on May 19th, and we need to make sure this
race is defined by strength, not softness.
[ [link removed] ]That’s why we’re asking: will you click here and chip in $5, $15, $25,
or whatever you can today to help power Summer’s campaign through this
critical stretch?
Your contribution helps us push back on this nonsense, reach voters with
the truth, and make sure bold leadership doesn’t get drowned out by timid
politics.
If you’re as fired up as we are about how wildly out of touch this comment
was, we hope you’ll stand with Summer today!
In solidarity,
— Team Summer Lee
